very interesting article:

having embraced video and digital early on, getting deeply into digital editing at film school and getting a digital video camera right after graduation, I recently felt nostalgia for film and dug out my old Super 8. An out of date Kodachrome film popped in, I went out and shot stuff only to discover that, er, they stopped processing Kodachrome altogether!
I knew that the mail-in super-8 processing had ceased, but this was horrendous.
Fortunatley other stocks can still be processed but I have decided to skip that and learn to hand process which I’ll be doing next weekend at the fabulous Nowhere lab –
