Just a quick check-in, share a few thoughts.
Last night my students showed their graduation films to an audience for the first time, on a nice big screen. I was so happy for them and proud of them. I had been with them from the start of the year, as they wrestled with their ideas, trying to find what they wanted to do, what to say and how to say it. False starts, experiments, mistakes crises. And in the end, an evening of beautiful, creative, thought-provoking films.
Helping people develop their creativity is one of the most interesting and rewarding things one can do. I love doing it and I think I am good at it.
Creativity is not just about making stuff. It is a total development. It is as much intellectual as it is practical In fact is is the perfect fusion of body and brain.
Whether you’re writing, filmmaking, painting, sculpting, performing – your body and brain are working together feeding each other, making something unique that only you could do, now at this moment.
It’s the root of what makes us human.
